The Legend of the Chinese Gender Chart
I genuinely believe that the anticipation of a new baby is one of life's greatest joys. The Chinese Gender Predictor (or "Birth Chart") was allegedly discovered in an ancient royal tomb near Beijing. For centuries, it has been used as a traditional way to guess a baby's biological sex based on the mother's lunar age and the month the baby was conceived.
How it works: The chart cross-references the mother's lunar age (which starts at 1 at birth) with the month of conception. For example, if a 25-year-old mother (lunar age 26) conceives in April, the chart traditionally predicts a Girl.
Common Pregnancy Myths:
- Belly Shape: "Carrying high" for a girl, "carrying low" for a boy. (Actually determined by muscle tone and baby's position).
- Morning Sickness: Severe nausea is sometimes associated with girls due to higher HCG levels.
- Heart Rate: Myths suggest >140 BPM for a girl and <140 BPM for a boy. (Fetal heart rate changes constantly during development).
