What is BiliTool?

I genuinely believe that every new parent should have access to clear data. Jaundice (yellowing of the skin) is extremely common in newborns and is caused by an excess of bilirubin. While most cases resolve on their own, high levels can be dangerous. Doctors use specific charts to determine if a baby needs "blue light" phototherapy.

The Hour-Specific Nomogram: A bilirubin level of 8.0 is perfectly normal at 48 hours, but it might be considered high risk if the baby is only 12 hours old. That’s why we always calculate based on the exact hour of life.

When to call the doctor:

  • If the jaundice is spreading to the baby's stomach or legs.
  • If the baby is very sleepy and difficult to wake for feedings.
  • If the baby is not having enough wet or dirty diapers.
