Candle Burn Tool
Label with confidence. Estimate the total life of your candle by calculating the wax consumption rate per hour based on your container and wick setup.
Based on a 7g per hour consumption rate.
Maximizing Your Candle's Life
I genuinely believe that a well-made candle is a piece of home engineering. The "burn time" isn't just about the amount of wax; it's about how efficiently the wick draws that wax into the flame. If your wick is too large, the candle will burn too hot and fast. If it's too small, it will "tunnel" and leave unused wax on the sides of the jar.
Calculating Your Own Rate: For the most accurate results, weigh your candle before lighting it. Burn it for exactly 3 hours, then weigh it again. Divide the weight loss by 3 to find your unique **Grams per Hour** rate.
Candle Care Tips:
- Trim the Wick: Always trim your wick to 1/4 inch before lighting. This prevents excessive soot and keeps the flame size controlled.
- The First Burn: Let the candle burn until the wax melts all the way to the edges of the jar. This prevents "memory rings" and tunneling.
- Max Burn Time: Don't burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time. The jar can become too hot and the fragrance oil can degrade.
