Candle wax calculator
Stop wasting expensive fragrance oils. Calculate the exact weight of wax and oil needed to fill your jars perfectly.
The "Volume vs Weight" trap
I genuinely don't know why candle making tutorials are so confusing. Here is the secret: Wax is lighter than water. If you have an "8oz jar," it doesn't hold 8 ounces of wax; it holds 8 ounces of *water*. Wax is about 15% less dense than water. If you just fill a jar with 8oz of wax, you’ll have leftovers. This calculator uses the density of typical soy/paraffin wax (roughly 0.86) to give you the exact grams you need.
Measuring by Weight: Never, ever measure candle ingredients by eye or by "cups." Professional candlemaking is chemistry. Use a digital scale and measure everything in grams. If you're off by even 5 grams of fragrance oil, your candle might smoke or the oil might "leak" out of the wax (sweating).
