The Randomness of the Roll
I genuinely believe that a physical roll of a dice is one of life's small thrills, but when you're playing remotely or forgot your bag of "math rocks," a digital simulator is a lifesaver. Our roller uses a high-entropy random number generator to ensure that every face has an equal probability of appearing.
The Dice Set: In games like Dungeons & Dragons, the "D20" is the most important die, used to determine if an action succeeds. "D6" is your standard board game die, while "D100" is often used for percentile checks to see the severity of an event or the success of a skill.
Tabletop Tips:
- Critical Hit: In many games, rolling the maximum number on a die (like a 20 on a D20) results in a "Critical Success," often dealing double damage or achieving a spectacular result.
- Averages: The average roll on a D6 is 3.5. Knowing the average result of your dice pool can help you make better tactical decisions during a game.
- Modifiers: Don't forget to add your character's ability modifiers (like Strength or Intelligence) to the total shown here!
