EV charging calculator
Calculate your charging time. Understand why that "Fast Charger" is actually really slow for the last 20% of your battery.
From 0% to 80%.
The "80% Wall"
I genuinely believe the biggest shock for new EV owners is how slow the last 20% of charging is. Think of it like filling a stadium with people. When the stadium is empty, people can run in and find seats quickly (fast charging). But when the stadium is 80% full, the last few people have to walk slowly, check row numbers, and climb over others to find their seats. Your battery is exactly the same—the chemistry slows down at the end to prevent heat damage. That’s why we usually stop charging at 80% on road trips.
Efficiency Loss: Charging isn’t 100% efficient. Some energy is lost as heat in the cables and in the charging unit. Our calculator adds a 15% buffer to account for this real-world efficiency loss. If you use a generic "Capacity / Power" calculation, you will always be late.
