Why "Deep Stretching" takes time
I genuinely believe the biggest mistake in home yoga is rushing the poses. Connective tissue (fascia) doesn't even begin to relax until about 30 seconds into a stretch. By setting a 60 or 90-second timer, you force your body to move past the initial resistance and into the actual "release" phase. **This is where the real flexibility happens.**
How long should I hold a yoga pose?
For Yin Yoga, holds are typically 3 to 5 minutes. For a more active Hatha flow, 30 to 60 seconds per pose is ideal to build strength and flexibility simultaneously.
Can I use this for HIIT?
Absolutely. You can set shorter intervals (20-30 sec) and high rounds for Tabata or other high-intensity training sessions.
